About The Position

The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana. As a Supervisor within the Economic Stability Unit, you’ll lead a dedicated team delivering critical financial and support services to individuals and families in need. Requirements

  • Six years of economic stability social services experience; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of economic stability social services experience; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of economic stability social services experience; OR An advanced degree in a social sciences field, business, public, or health administration plus two years of economic stability social services experience.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Social Service Analysts and Economic Stability Specialists, including training staff, resolving employee and client disputes, approving leave, and conducting performance evaluations across assigned units or multiple parishes.
  • Lead the resolution of complaints and conflicts related to program participation by interviewing complainants, investigating issues, and ensuring timely and appropriate outcomes.
  • Review staff work and case records to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness in determining eligibility benefits.
  • Identify error trends through case reviews, develop and implement corrective action plans, and provide targeted training to improve staff performance and program compliance.
  • Monitor and manage workflow by retrieving assignments from the LITE Unassigned Queue and distributing cases to staff to ensure timely processing.
  • Interpret policies and provide guidance to staff by maintaining current knowledge of program regulations, collaborating with regional consultants, and delivering ongoing training and professional development.
