About The Position

The Louisiana Department of Health aims to protect and promote the health of its residents and ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services. Requirements

Five years of economic stability social services experience.
OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of economic stability social services experience.
OR A bachelor's degree plus two years of economic stability social services experience.
OR An advanced degree in a social sciences field, business, public, or health administration plus one year of economic stability social services experience.
Applicants must clearly describe their experience with specific Economic Stability, Medicaid programs, etc. and/or identify the section or unit in which they performed economic stability social services work within their job duties.

Nice To Haves

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

Problem solving, triage, and handling SEBT card issues.
Identifying problem areas and recommending corrective actions to avoid federal fiscal sanctions, inequality of service, and inaccurate benefit determinations.
Developing and recommending revisions to forms, procedures, and policies to reduce workload, minimize errors, and maximize service delivery to clients.
Researching and analyzing program policy to determine its impact on staff, programs, clients, and contracted providers.
Recommending policy and procedural changes that comply with Federal and State mandates, identified problems, or aim to reduce workload or errors.
Organizing, developing, and participating in special projects, reports, and workgroups to improve productivity, minimize errors, and reduce workload as requested by leadership.
Participating in the development of new or revised policies and procedures resulting from legislation or agency initiatives.
Completing testing for Economic Stability systems and assisting in creating communication and training documents for ES field staff.
Communicating with vendors, school administrators, database personnel, and customers.
Identifying training needs based on findings and providing recommendations to management.
Serving as a subject matter expert in SEBT and SNAP for all policies and systems.
