About The Position

Xiente (formerly Norris Square Community Alliance) was founded in 1982 by a group of Puerto Rican women in North Philadelphia who saw a need and took action. From the beginning, we believed that the people most impacted by poverty should be the ones shaping the solutions. That principle still guides us today. In 2023, our evolution into Xiente marked a renewed commitment to economic mobility, systems change, and intergenerational prosperity. We are still rooted in the same neighborhood. We are still powered by the same community. Our mission is to transform communities by empowering individuals to achieve social mobility. Xiente programs maximize personal capital - education, financial literacy, real estate, business opportunity - to create a path of economic mobility for individuals and their families. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Economic Mobility Counselor to join our team with background in workforce development, housing counseling, social work, or finance counseling. The ideal candidate will provide guidance and support to individuals and families seeking to improve their economic situation and achieve financial stability. This role involves assessing client needs, developing personalized action plans, providing support to connect with career opportunities, social networks, and connecting clients with resources and services that promote economic mobility. Counselors work with each family through the entire process, from the first interaction to the last. After orientation and training, counselors manage their own calendars and caseloads, with the team meeting three times a week to discuss cases and resources.
