About The Position

Provides overall Economic Development direction and support in an assigned region of the AEP service territory. The role develops business relationships with companies in target sectors, generates business leads, and works to secure revenue-producing investment in AEP’s service territory. It also supports AEP personnel working in Marketing, Community Affairs, and Economic Development, manages proposals for companies seeking buildings or sites in AEP territory, and contributes to asset utilization and business development efforts. The position requires adherence to high ethical standards and the Company’s Corporate Compliance Policy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, finance, business administration, or a related field, with at least 5 years of economic/business development experience including industry-specific experience; or an associate degree with at least 7 years of such experience; or a high school diploma/GED with at least 8 years of such experience.
• Demonstrated strategic and analytical skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships and achieve objectives through collaboration with multiple entities inside and outside the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to strategically manage economic development projects.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree.
• Certified Economic Development Professional designation or similar certification.
