About The Position

Provides overall Economic Development direction and support in an assigned region of the AEP service territory. The role develops business relationships with companies in target sectors, generates business leads, and works to secure revenue-producing investment in the service territory. It also serves as a resource to Company personnel involved in Marketing, Community Affairs, or Economic Development and manages proposals for companies seeking buildings or sites in AEP territory, supporting asset utilization and business development efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in economics, engineering, finance, business administration, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of economic/business development experience including industry-specific experience; or an associate's degree with a minimum of 7 years of such experience; or a high school diploma/GED with 8 years of such experience.
• Demonstrated strategic and analytical skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships and achieve objectives through collaboration with multiple entities within and outside the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to strategically manage economic development projects.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree.
• Certified Economic Development Professional designation or similar certification.
