About The Position

VitalSource® is hiring an eCommerce Specialist to contribute to our E-Commerce team located remotely in the US. The eCommerce Specialist analyzes the performance of VitalSource's direct-to-consumer digital commerce channel and reports findings to leadership. This role connects sales, website, marketing, and catalog data to identify what impacts revenue, and works with Product, UX, Marketing, and Analytics to turn those insights into recommendations on conversion, site search, SEO, and customer retention. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director, Global eCommerce. VitalSource is a mission-driven company delivering affordable, impactful learning to anyone, anywhere.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in eCommerce, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience with conversion and funnel analysis, and using those findings to implement improvements that improve sales performance.
  • Working knowledge of the levers that drive eCommerce sales: conversion, AOV, traffic channels, catalogue quality, and customer retention.
  • Proficiency with BI and reporting tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Excel).
  • Experience working across web, sales, marketing, and catalogue data sources to build a cohesive view of business performance.
  • Strong cross-functional communicator who can align stakeholders and drive work forward across teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Google Analytics 4 and/or Google Ads.
  • Familiarity with SEO tools and best practices (e.g., Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs).
  • Experience with customer segmentation or CRM/marketing platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered analytics or productivity tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, AI-assisted BI features).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate performance tracking and analyze KPI measures and tracking data to identify the drivers behind performance trends and opportunities to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and scale across the eCommerce system.
  • Analyze large, complex datasets across sales, web, marketing, and catalog sources to build a unified view of eCommerce performance; identify, quantify, and prioritize issues and opportunities by connecting signals across disparate data sources.
  • Package findings into clear, compelling narratives for senior leadership and cross-functional audiences, translating complexity into decisions.
  • Improve site search discoverability to ensure customers can find and purchase the content they're looking for.
  • Monitor and report on organic search performance, identifying trends and opportunities to guide SEO strategy and inform cross-functional teams.
  • Build and manage customer segments to support programs to grow LTV and repeat purchase.
  • Leverage seasonal and segment-level sales trends to inform promotional planning that maximizes revenue.
  • Partner with Analytics, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to align on priorities and ensure eCommerce initiatives translate into measurable sales outcomes.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting workflows that give stakeholders timely, reliable visibility into the business.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools to work more efficiently and surface insights faster.
