About The Position

Edmund Optics is seeking an Ecommerce Program Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of major initiatives across the company's ecommerce site and supporting web operations. This role will translate ecommerce strategy into an integrated, executable program plan and keep cross-functional teams, internal development resources, vendors, and implementation partners aligned to agreed milestones and deliverables. The Ecommerce Program Manager will oversee both transformation initiatives and the day-to-day flow of ecommerce work, including project plans, dependencies, risks, ticket prioritization, status reporting, vendor deliverables, and implementation timelines. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working across departments, persistent in driving accountability, and able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex ecommerce, web, or technology programs with multiple workstreams and dependencies.
  • Strong project planning skills, including development and maintenance of Gantt charts, critical paths, milestones, resource plans, and delivery schedules.
  • Ability to drive accountability across cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct reporting authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear status reporting for both technical teams and business leadership.
  • Experience managing technology vendors, implementation partners, contracts, SOWs, project schedules, deliverables, and change requests.
  • Experience coordinating day-to-day development queues, tickets, defects, and competing priorities in an active web environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, risk management, and follow-through skills.
  • Working knowledge of ecommerce platforms, web development lifecycles, systems integrations, and customer experience programs.
  • Ability to work onsite in Barrington, New Jersey.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • US Citizenship or permanent residence required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Information Systems, Marketing, Ecommerce, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of project or program management experience, including experience leading complex web, ecommerce, or technology initiatives.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives involving internal technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with B2B ecommerce, technical products, manufacturing, or another complex product environment.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery methods and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
  • PMP, SCRUM, or other relevant project management certification.
  • Experience supporting ecommerce transformation initiatives involving search, personalization, PIM, DAM, analytics, or customer experience platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and manage the integrated ecommerce program roadmap, including detailed Gantt charts, milestones, dependencies, critical paths, resources, and delivery dates across multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Coordinate major ecommerce initiatives such as site redesign, product information improvements, digital asset management, search and discovery, personalization, analytics, integrations, checkout, and other customer experience enhancements from planning through implementation and stabilization.
  • Partner with Web, IT, Product Management, Marketing, Creative, Analytics, Finance, Compliance, Customer Experience, and other business teams to establish responsibilities, resolve dependencies, and keep work progressing against agreed timelines.
  • Actively follow up on commitments, identify missed or at-risk deliverables, remove blockers where possible, and escalate issues when needed. Ensure owners understand the downstream impact of delays and that recovery plans are established when milestones are at risk.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day assignment and prioritization of ecommerce development work, system requests, defects, and tickets. Balance ongoing business needs with transformation priorities and available team capacity.
  • Serve as a primary operational contact for ecommerce technology vendors and implementation partners. Coordinate contracts, Statements of Work (SOWs), deliverables, project schedules, change requests, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and escalation of performance issues.
  • Develop concise, consistent project updates for stakeholders and leadership, including progress against milestones, upcoming decisions, risks, budget or vendor concerns, and areas requiring support. Maintain a clear source of truth for program status.
  • Proactively identify cross-project dependencies, resource constraints, sequencing issues, and implementation risks. Maintain appropriate risk, issue, decision, and action logs and drive timely resolution.
  • Work with functional leaders, Finance, and external partners to track program resources, vendor commitments, project spend, and anticipated budget needs. Support forecasting and reconciliation of ecommerce transformation expenses.
  • Establish and improve practical project management processes, meeting cadences, documentation standards, prioritization practices, and delivery workflows that increase visibility, accountability, and execution speed without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
