About The Position

Responsible for identifying, evaluating, and sourcing unique and high-value merchandise from retail locations to support the organization’s eCommerce sales strategy. This role requires strong product knowledge and sound judgment to assess resale potential across a range of specialty one or more categories, including collectibles, books/comic books, musical instruments, artwork, media, electronics, fashion and luxury goods. The position contributes directly to online revenue growth by ensuring the selection of quality items aligned with market demand and organizational standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong knowledge of at least one designated merchandise category.
  • Ability to conduct effective online research and apply critical thinking when evaluating items.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for frequent travel between locations.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with team members.
  • Ability to complete tasks and assignments with numerous interruptions and little direct supervision.
  • Computer aptitude and research skills required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and on the telephone.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Committed to team building and improvement processes.
  • Valid MD Driver’s License and registration

Responsibilities

  • Travel to multiple retail locations daily to identify items of potential value through product knowledge, online research, and professional judgment.
  • Recognize and evaluate brands, designers, manufacturers, signatures, maker’s marks, and other distinguishing characteristics that contribute to an item's marketability and value.
  • Assess merchandise for quality, authenticity, condition, and resale potential.
  • Collaborate professionally with management and retail staff across multiple locations.
  • Meet established productivity, quality, and performance goals.
  • Maintain compliance with all company safety policies, driving requirements, and housekeeping standards.
  • Represent and promote Goodwill’s mission and values through positive daily interactions with team members and customers.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
