About The Position

Eco Camp Counselors will lead groups of campers aged 6-13 around the Wildlife Sanctuary, introducing them to local flora and fauna, playing games, swimming, canoeing, and going on field trips. This role involves getting wet and dirty in the hot, buggy summer conditions. This position requires a dedicated and creative person to lead in all operations of Eco Camp. Duties include, but are not limited to: working with campers aged 6-13, designing and creating games and activities, signing children in and out before and after camp, office duties, implementing safety during camp, and finding solutions to minor problems and medical issues. This position is an integral part of our unit, where teamwork and collaboration are essential. We believe in supporting each other to achieve our collective goals. Therefore, this position will be expected to work closely with colleagues and, when necessary, assist in other capacities to ensure the overall success of our objectives.

Requirements

  • Must be CPR & First Aid Certified (or will be provided if hired).
  • Must be willing and able to be outside and work in various weather conditions, such as rain or heat.
  • Must be able to work with campers aged 6-13.
  • Must be able to perform office duties.
  • Must be able to implement safety during camp.
  • Must be able to find solutions to minor problems and medical issues.
  • Must be able to work with multiple personalities.
  • Requires a background check.
  • May require a credit check.
  • Must be a "Responsible Employee" pursuant to their role under Title IX and promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse.
