About The Position

The Impact You Can Make Team Impact The Echo/Ultrasound technologist will work directly with radiologists and cardiologist to perform a variety of ultrasound procedures that require judgment and ingenuity while responding to any of the patient’s special, physical, emotional, spiritual and/or age-specific related needs. Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited Ultrasound Program
  • RDCS Credential with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or RCS Credential with Cardiovascular Credentialing International. OR Registry eligible with the above organization and certification within 1 year of hire (new graduates)
  • CPR certification
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to a variety of people.
  • Ability to promote and work in a team setting.
  • Transthoracic, Stress, and Transesophageal experience
  • Ultrasound/Echo machine experience, GE and Philips
  • 2D, MMode, Color Doppler, PW/CW, 3D proficient
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently
  • Computer/phone skills

Responsibilities

  • Performs quality ultrasound exams with the appropriate technical skills and according to the established procedure protocols.
  • Provides for appropriate patient care, safety, education, and a favorable customer service experience during procedures.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation of patient records especially in the Radiology Information System and PACS (computer systems) to meet operating standards, corporate compliance practices, and/or regulatory and accreditation requirements.
  • Presents appropriate filming and technical findings of ultrasound scans to the radiologist/cardiologist.
  • Collaborates and participates in department related projects and/or teams focused on improvement opportunities as needed.
  • Performs other related operational duties as needed including, but not limited to, transporting patients, office/clerical functions, equipment troubleshooting, maintaining supplies in rooms, and cleaning ultrasound equipment.
