About The Position

William Osler Health System (Osler) is seeking an Echocardiography Technologist for its Non-Invasive Cardiology department. This role involves performing cardiac ultrasound studies, including 2D and color Doppler, for both adult and pediatric patient assessments. The technologist will also assist cardiologists with specialized procedures such as transesophageal studies, stress echoes, and contrast echoes, and will contribute to quality management. Requirements

  • Registered with the CMRITO
  • Post graduate Cardiac Sonography diploma from an accredited school in Canada
  • RDCS registration in good standing with ARDMS or Sonography Canada
  • Proficient in adult studies and associated echo modalities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills with a well-developed customer service focus; dealing effectively with patients and physicians
  • Effective problem solving skills, critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast paced clinical environment
  • Demonstrate initiative and judgment appropriate for the position
  • Ability to work in an inter-professional team environment as well as independently
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, and the ability to make independent decisions, displaying a high level of initiative
  • Proven ability to work successful in a physically and mentally demanding environment
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position
  • Satisfactory attendance record
  • Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record required
  • Required to work at all Osler sites

Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiac ultrasound studies including 2D and color doppler for adult and paediatric patient assessments.
