Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Cardiac Credentialing International (CCI) required.
• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer program or must have a minimum of 2 years cardiac sonographer experience including educational training.
• Competent in performing exercise, pharmacological, and bike echocardiograms after formal orientation in these specialties.
• Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographers required.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Cardiac Credentialing International (CCI) required.
• Basic Life Support Certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date.
• Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) Competency.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete echocardiographic study integrating all patient data.
• Document completely and accurately patient data through computer system.
• Assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required.
• Perform exams in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
• Availability for occasional on-call status, weekend and holiday coverage, and later shifts is mandatory.
• Must possess strong organizational skills and be able to function independently.
• Assists in the orientation and training of fellows, students, and visitors assigned to the Echocardiography Laboratory.
• Strong human relation and communication skills and consistently demonstrate sound judgment.
