About The Position

Responsible for performing a variety of procedures including 2D ECHO’s, Stress Echo’s, Bubble Studies, Holters and EKG’s. This is a part-time position with a rotating shift available at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital within the Cardiology Department. The role involves performing cardiac ultrasound and stress echocardiograms following American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines, as well as EKG’s, Event and Holter monitors, and Stress Testing. The Echocardiographer will also assist with department patient workflow, facilitate throughput, and provide quality patient care considering age-specific, developmental, and cultural needs. Maintaining knowledge of ASE guidelines, experience with Microsoft Professional, and maintaining Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL) standards are key aspects of the role. The position also requires maintaining good rapport with colleagues, approaching conflict constructively, identifying and resolving problems, and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Must be registered or registry eligible.
  • Certification must be obtained within one year of hire date by an accredited credentialing body, such as the ARDMS or CCI.
  • Completion of a formal program in diagnostic medical sonography or experienced with current registry status.
  • Responsible for educational needs in accordance with license.
  • ACLS required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality patient care by considering the age specific, development and cultural needs through competent clinical practice.
  • Demonstrate unit/area competencies.
  • Identify and assist in resolution of problems related to safety, sanitation and maintenance of the environment.
  • Be knowledgeable in all ASE guidelines.
  • Have experience with Microsoft Professional.
  • Maintain Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL).
  • Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships.
  • Approach conflict in a constructive manner.
  • Help to identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patient, physicians, employees, and visitors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
