About The Position

The Echocardiographer performs transthoracic echocardiograms and sets up and assists with transesophageal echocardiograms. Under the direction of a trained echocardiographer, the position also involves setting up and performing exercise and dobutamine stress echocardiograms in accordance with standards established by the American Society of Echocardiography and Froedtert Hospital. The role demonstrates increasing competency in delivering care primarily to adult patients.

Requirements

Graduate of a cardiac sonography or echocardiography program, or at least 1 year of experience as a cardiac sonographer or echocardiographer.
Completion of a two-year Allied Health degree and successful completion of a 12-month CAAHEP-approved School of Ultrasound Technology or Cardiovascular Technology, or equivalent education.
Education or training sufficient to acquire ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac ultrasound, RDCS, or RCS.
RDCS or RCS credential, or completion of RDCS/RCS requirements within 12 months of employment.
AHA Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certification or an AHA-approved equivalent within 90 days of hire.

Previous healthcare-related experience, such as CNA, EMT, or PCA.
