About The Position

The Echo/Vascular Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound and vascular imaging procedures to evaluate the structure and function of the heart and vascular system. The role supports patient care across multiple departments by providing accurate and timely diagnostic results to aid treatment planning. This is a PRN position with 10-hour day shifts and call.

Requirements

0–1 years of experience in echocardiography and/or vascular imaging required.
Basic understanding of echocardiography and vascular imaging techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, physicians, and healthcare staff.
Ability to handle imaging equipment safely and accurately.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and patient care.
Proficiency with EMR systems and diagnostic imaging software.
RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) required.
BCLS (Basic Life Support) required.

Responsibilities

Perform echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound procedures according to protocols and quality standards.
Operate ultrasound equipment safely and maintain its cleanliness and functionality.
Conduct preliminary evaluations and record findings for physician interpretation.
Collaborate with healthcare providers across departments to coordinate care and deliver diagnostic results promptly.
Ensure patient safety and comfort, applying age-specific care considerations and a respectful approach.
Document procedures and findings accurately in electronic medical records, complying with department standards and regulatory requirements.
Assist with scheduling, preparing, and positioning patients for imaging; verify patient identity and imaging orders.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Comply with all policies and standards.
