About The Position

St. George Regional Hospital is seeking a New Graduate Echo / Vascular Sonographer to join their collaborative and experienced imaging team. This full-time role offers strong clinical exposure, a supportive team environment, and the opportunity to grow skills while providing high-quality cardiovascular care to a diverse patient population. As a Level II Trauma Center and regional referral hospital, St. George Regional serves patients across southern Utah, southeastern Nevada, and northwestern Arizona, providing new graduates with meaningful experience early in their careers. The hospital is a 284-bed Level II Trauma Center and regional referral hospital, accredited by The Joint Commission, and Magnet® designated for nursing excellence. It boasts strong collaboration across imaging, cardiology, and vascular services and is located in southern Utah with year-round sunshine and exceptional quality of life. Requirements

  • ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate technical competence following departmental performance protocols
  • Prioritize and schedule exams in coordination with physicians, caregivers, and patients
  • Prepare patients by verifying identification, educating patients and families, and transporting patients as needed
  • Perform ultrasound exams consistent with established protocols and timelines
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and high-quality diagnostic outcomes
  • Communicate effectively throughout the exam with physicians, caregivers, patients, and families
  • Return patients to rooms post-exam and ensure stability and safety
  • Accurately document exam results and related information
  • Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies
  • Clean and maintain ultrasound equipment and work areas
  • Stock supplies and coordinate repair or supply needs through appropriate channels
