About The Position

The Sonographer is responsible for performing all functions necessary to produce high-quality cardiac ultrasound examinations, consistent with credentialing and scope of practice. This position supports patient care by performing ultrasounds, educating the patient on the process and answering any questions they may have. The role also involves demonstrating proficiency in the operation of ultrasound equipment and related imaging procedures, accurately acquiring imaging measurements in accordance with established department protocols, and preparing digital preliminary reports while verbally communicating critical findings to the interpreting physician. Additionally, the Echo Tech performs routine administrative and clinical duties to support efficient clinic and provider operations, ensures accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation, exercises sound clinical judgment and technical expertise in the use of sonographic equipment, and maintains ultrasound equipment in optimal working condition, ensuring functionality and readiness for immediate use. Safeguarding patient information by maintaining confidentiality and complying with HIPAA regulations is also a key responsibility. Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • Graduate of an ultrasound program
  • Current ARDMS, CCI, or registry eligible and pass registry within 6 months of hire
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license
  • BLS or ACLS (Must obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Ability to travel to other offices as needed

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience in Cardiology field
  • 1 year of experience as a cardiac ultrasound technologist
