About The Position
The Echo Tech is responsible for performing all functions necessary to produce high-quality cardiac ultrasound examinations, consistent with credentialing and scope of practice.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D
- Graduate of an ultrasound program
- Current ARDMS, CCI, or registry eligible and pass registry within 6 months of hire
- Maintain a valid driver’s license
- BLS or ACLS (Must obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Ability to travel to other offices as needed
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of experience in Cardiology field
- 1 year of experience as a cardiac ultrasound technologist
Responsibilities
- Supports patient care by performing ultrasounds, educating the patient on the process and answering any questions they may have
- Demonstrate proficiency in the operation of ultrasound equipment and related imaging procedures
- Accurately acquires imaging measurements in accordance with established department protocols
- Prepares digital preliminary reports and verbally communicates critical findings to the interpreting physician
- Performs routine administrative and clinical duties to support efficient clinic and provider operations.
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of clinical documentation
- Exercises sound clinical judgment and technical expertise in the use of sonographic equipment.
- Maintains ultrasound equipment in optimal working condition, ensuring functionality and readiness for immediate use
- Safeguards patient information by maintaining confidentiality and complying with HIPAA regulations
