About The Position

The Echo Tech works in the Cardiology Department at Prime Healthcare–St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois. The role uses ultrasound to visualize internal cardiac structures, measure cardiac valves, the ventricle and left atrium, and visualize blood flow. The Echo Tech assists physicians with complex ultrasound procedures and supports smooth, efficient Cardiopulmonary Department operations through appropriate management of clerical functions, document handling and disposition, interpersonal relationships, and information gathering and distribution.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it as current.
ARDMS or CCI credential required.

Nice To Haves

Completion of an echocardiogram program certification preferred.
EKG rhythm analysis or interpretation certificate, or equivalent, preferred.
Ability to assist a physician with TEE testing preferred.
Previous experience performing echocardiograms on patients of all ages preferred.
Hospital experience in the Cardiology field preferred.
Registered Echocardiographer preferred.
Ability to perform stress testing preferred.
