About The Position
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Escorts patient from waiting area to examination room and reviews written history questionnaire. Explains nature of test to patient. Performs echocardiograms – 2D, M-mode, color Doppler according to department policy to comply with physician orders/standard of care. Performs trans-esophageal echocardiograms (TEE) on non-operative/intra-operative basis according to department policy to comply with physician orders/standard of care. Performs dobutamine stress echocardiograms (DSE), Stress Echocardiograms according to department policy to comply with physician orders/standards of care. Logs all pertinent patient/test data to ensure accurate billing/record keeping for the hospital and department. Monitors performance/repair of clinical equipment to ensure the quality of all testing and the safety of staff and internal/external customers. Maintains images in EHR. Cleans/disinfects/sterilizes clinical equipment to ensure staff and internal/external customer safety from pathogens. Participates in on call as per department policy. Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Registered echo sonographer RCS, or RDMS experience required.
- High school diploma and completion of a two-year echocardiography training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or cardiovascular technology program accredited by the CAAHEP.
