As an Echo Cardiac Sonographer at UVA Health, your expertise directly contributes to life-saving diagnoses and the success of a nationally recognized Heart & Vascular Center. In this highly specialized role, you will deliver high-quality echocardiographic imaging that informs complex clinical decisions. As a Cardiac Sonographer in the Echocardiography Lab, you will operate at the intersection of advanced imaging technology and patient-centered care. Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited program in appropriate area of specialty as required by position.
  • No experience required.
  • American Heart Associate (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required; additional requirements specified by position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive echocardiographic studies, including transthoracic and stress imaging, producing diagnostically accurate results
  • Collaborate closely with cardiologists, fellows, and interdisciplinary care teams to support clinical decision-making
  • Ensure image quality optimization and protocol adherence, maintaining the highest standards of diagnostic excellence
  • Interact directly with patients, providing clear communication and compassionate care during procedures
  • Contribute to a lab environment that supports quality assurance, accreditation standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Engage in a clinical ladder program, supporting your professional growth and advancement within the field
