ECE Teaching Assistant Part-Time
About The Position
This position involves working with children aged 1 to 5 years old. The Teaching Assistant must be 17 years of age or older and is responsible for maintaining an orderly and safe classroom environment. The role requires dependability, energy, and the ability to take initiative with minimal supervision. The assistant will organize and participate in recreational activities, assist in preparing and serving food, and help regulate rest periods. They will also support full-time staff with activities aligned with curriculum objectives and program philosophy. Adherence to state licensing guidelines, maintaining confidentiality, and supervising children during activities are key duties. The role also includes assisting children with snacks and bathroom needs, and communicating with co-workers and parents. Requirements
- Must be at least 17 years of age
- Minimum of 1 year of childcare experience
- Knowledge of child development and/or early childhood education
- Ability to interact with children and remain calm
- Knowledge of general safety rules and basic first aid
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in teams and individually
- Ability to exhibit good judgment, maturity and stability
Responsibilities
- Maintain an orderly and safe classroom environment

- Must enjoy singing, playing outside, doing arts & crafts

- Assist full-time staff with both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy
- Abide by all compliance guidelines as determined by State licensing agency
- Maintain confidentiality of pertinent information
- Supervise and conducting activities with the children
- Assist children with snacks and bathroom needs
- Communicate with co-workers and/or parents
