About The Position

The Denver Waldorf School (DWS) seeks a qualified candidate to join our faculty as a part-time Early Childhood Education Assistant in our Nursery program to begin in the 2026-27 school year. The Early Childhood Education Assistant works collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and Lead Assistant to support the daily rhythms and activities of the Nursery classroom, serving children ages 2 to 4½ years old. Knowledge of Waldorf educational philosophy is preferred.

Requirements

• Qualifications that meet Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) requirements.
• A genuine love of working with children ages 2 to 4½ years old.
• The ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Waldorf educational philosophy is preferred.
• An interest in and appreciation for Waldorf education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervising children during outdoor play and daily activities.
• Supporting the Lead Teacher and Lead Assistant with daily classroom routines and transitions.
• Assisting with classroom organization, setup, and cleanup.
• Building warm, meaningful relationships with the children.
• Helping to nurture the domestic, artistic, and rhythmic life of the classroom.
• Sharing responsibility for maintaining a beautiful, orderly, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Supporting the creation of an atmosphere of security, warmth, and joy where children can thrive.
• Assisting in fostering a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
