About The Position

Montessori Kids Universe Bannockburn is seeking a Montessori Lead Teacher to join their dedicated team. This role involves guiding young learners (ages 6 weeks to 6 years) in an authentic Montessori environment, fostering independence, creativity, and a love for learning. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging classroom culture, planning and implementing Montessori lessons, and building strong relationships with families and staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience in an early childhood setting.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to supervise and mentor Assistant Teachers.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Nice To Haves

  • Montessori Certification from an accredited Montessori training center desired - willing to train.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a Montessori-prepared environment that supports each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Plan and implement Montessori lessons and activities tailored to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • Ensure the classroom is organized, safe, and well-prepared with age-appropriate materials.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and nurturing environment that promotes independence and self-confidence.
  • Maintain a normalized classroom, ensuring children have opportunities to develop coordination, concentration, independence, and order.
  • Build strong relationships with families by communicating regularly about student progress.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide progress reports to discuss child development.
  • Collaborate with parents and staff to create a supportive learning environment at school and at home.
  • Supervise and mentor Assistant Teachers, ensuring a cohesive teaching team.
  • Collaborate with staff members to create enriching curriculum experiences.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and Montessori accreditation standards.
  • Maintain student records and progress documentation.
  • Follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures to provide a safe and nurturing classroom environment.
