EB Weld Operator - 2nd Shift

About The Position

The Electron Beam Weld (EBW) Machine Operator assists the department in meeting its goals by setting up and operating EBW machinery, maintaining quality standards, meeting daily production targets, and troubleshooting equipment when required. The role includes handling coils, preparing the designated machine, monitoring production and machine operation, checking materials and finished products against specifications, and entering data in SAP.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1–3 years of previous manufacturing experience.
Experience using micrometers and other precision measurement tools.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and technical procedures.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the metals industry.
Previous EB Weld machine operation experience.

Responsibilities

Remove coils from skids, load coils to the payoff, and measure material gauge and width using measuring devices.
Set up the designated EBW machine by interpreting process sheets, setting machine parameters, and using lubrication.
Operate the machine while adhering to quality parameters and performing in-process checks.
Monitor machine cycles and mill operation to detect jamming and ensure products conform to specifications.
Examine, inspect, and measure raw materials and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
Read and understand EBW work instructions to determine setup specifications, work sequences, product dimensions, and installation procedures.
Manipulate controls and observe dial indicators to monitor, adjust, and regulate machine mechanism speeds.
Thread or feed material through the EBW machine, or start and control mechanisms that automatically feed metal into the machine.
Enter data into the SAP software system.
Troubleshoot equipment when required.
