About The Position

The Standard is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits National Accounts Sales and/or Account Management professional to transition into a Training & Development Specialist role within their National Accounts and large case segment. This role is responsible for developing the capabilities of Sales and Client Management professionals across regional and national account segments. The focus is on field sales execution, client management excellence, and broker engagement, ensuring employees have the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviors to compete effectively. The role requires strong facilitation, consulting, and leadership capabilities, serving as a trusted advisor to sales leadership and translating field realities into actionable training strategies to enhance sales performance and client outcomes.

Requirements

  • Performed in a National Accounts role with ancillary EB products
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8–12+ years of experience in employee benefits sales, national account management, or distribution leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver role-based training to corporate Sales and Client Management professionals
  • Reinforce effective sales and client management practices
  • Improve field processes and operational efficiency
  • Enhance broker and customer engagement capabilities
  • Partner with enterprise Learning & Development teams to align training content with organizational standards
  • Lead National Accounts Sales & Client Management Training: Designs and delivers advanced training for National Accounts roles including EB National Sales Consultants, VB National Sales Consultants, National Account Consultants, Client Manager National Accounts, and Account Specialist. Training focuses on strategic selling, complex broker relationships, client retention strategies, and consultative benefit solutions.
  • Develop Advanced Sales Capability Programs: Designs and facilitates advanced capability programs that strengthen strategic account management, consultative selling, broker relationship management, and multi-product solution selling.
  • Serve as Strategic Advisor to Sales Leadership: Partners with Sales and Client Management leadership to identify capability gaps and develop training strategies that support business growth and client retention.
  • Improve Sales and Client Management Processes: Provides insight into field practices to improve sales processes, client management workflows, operational efficiency, and broker engagement strategies.
  • Partner with Enterprise L&D: Collaborates with enterprise L&D to ensure alignment with enterprise learning frameworks while maintaining a focus on field execution and sales capability.
