About The Position

River Oaks Hospital is seeking a passionate and experienced Eating Disorders Therapist to join our highly specialized team dedicated to providing exceptional care for individuals struggling with eating disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. As a member of our nationally recognized specialty programming, you'll work alongside experienced psychiatrists, therapists, dietitians, nurses, and clinical leaders who are committed to delivering evidence-based treatment and helping patients achieve lasting recovery. The Eating Disorders Therapist plays a vital role within our interdisciplinary treatment team, providing individual, family, and group therapy while collaborating closely with medical, nutritional, and psychiatric providers to ensure comprehensive patient care. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
  • Current Louisiana licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) or license eligible.
  • Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) credentialing
  • Experience working with patients diagnosed with eating disorders and/or co-occurring behavioral health conditions.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in inpatient, residential, PHP, or IOP behavioral health settings.
  • Training in CBT-E, DBT, ACT, FBT, or other evidence-based eating disorder treatment models.
  • Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary treatment teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy using evidence-based interventions.
  • Facilitate eating disorder-focused therapeutic and psychoeducational groups.
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, case consultations, and care coordination efforts.
  • Partner closely with psychiatrists, dietitians, nursing staff, and case managers to ensure integrated treatment planning.
  • Support patients and families throughout the recovery process while fostering hope and resilience.
  • Monitor treatment progress and adjust interventions as clinically appropriate.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Assist with discharge planning and continuum-of-care recommendations.
