About The Position

Chevron is seeking entry-level Earth Scientists for the 2025-2026 recruiting season. These roles are part of multi-disciplinary teams and focus on developing technical skills in geoscience, geophysics, and petrophysics for exploration, development, reservoir characterization, and well operations. Entry-level scientists will contribute value to Chevron based on their academic background, experience, and career objectives, with guidance from a supervisor and technical mentor. Chevron offers a competency-based employee development program for recent graduates, including technical assignments, training, and mentoring over the first 5 years. Mobility is encouraged, with opportunities in domestic upstream operations, global exploration, or research-focused Centers of Excellence. The role involves solving challenging problems using digital technologies and techniques. Potential assignments include exploration, appraisal, asset development, technology, well-site operations, reservoir modeling, portfolio management, subsurface data science, technical leadership, and specialized roles like stratigrapher, structural geologist, geophysicist, petrophysicist, basin analyst, and earth modeler. Opportunities for overseas locations may arise after 10+ years of experience.

Requirements

Students completing the last year of their Master’s or Doctorate Thesis program or with less than 2 years post-graduate degree experience in geology, geophysics, geological engineering, or related fields.
Individuals with a Master’s or Doctorate degree in geology, geophysics, geological engineering, or related fields.
Professional/academic focus in a technical area aligned with Chevron’s business needs.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in an integrated oil or international service company intern program.
Prior experience with industry workflows for subsurface characterization.
