About The Position

The Embassy Suites is a premier destination renowned for its luxurious accommodations and exceptional dining experiences. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our talented culinary team and contribute to our commitment to excellence. The AM Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in culinary arts, with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. The role requires open availability, as shifts starts at 3am , including, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Food handler’s certification or equivalent is required.
  • Proficiency in various cooking techniques and methods.
  • Strong attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
  • Open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required to accommodate the hotel’s operational needs.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a hotel environment is preferred.
  • More than 1 year of experience in a hotel or upscale restaurant environment.
  • Additional culinary certifications or training in advanced cooking techniques.
  • A flair for creativity in menu planning and dish presentation.
  • Strong multitasking abilities to manage various cooking tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, in accordance with the hotel’s recipes and standards.
  • Ensure dishes are presented attractively and meet the hotel's quality standards, including taste, texture, and temperature.
  • Assist in maintaining an organized and efficient kitchen, including proper food storage, equipment maintenance, and cleanliness.
  • Monitor inventory levels, manage stock rotation, and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and hygiene practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff, including sous chefs, line cooks, and dishwashers, to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Be flexible with tasks and schedules to meet the needs of the kitchen and hotel operations.
