About The Position

Jeff's Bagel Run is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team as an Early Morning Baker/Bagel Roller. This role offers the opportunity to learn the bagel business from the ground up, with potential for growth as the company expands. Jeff's Bagel Run emphasizes teamwork, a positive atmosphere, and a commitment to serving the community with fresh, hot bagels. The company operates 34 locations and is expanding to Gainesville. They close daily at 2 pm. A great candidate will be disciplined, fast, take pride in consistency, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, hot environment. The role involves boiling and baking bagels to meet high demand, as well as other potential tasks such as cream cheese scooping, vegetable chopping, cookie baking, dishes, general cleaning, and front-of-house service when needed.

Requirements

Must be willing to work in a small, hot space, furiously boiling and baking bagels to keep up with a high demand
Must be a good teammate
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and move quickly and efficiently under pressure
Must be able to start work as early as 4am
Weekend availability required

Restaurant or bakery experience will be a bonus

Responsibilities

Understand the importance of all baking procedures and recipes
Prep and bake bagels
Open Bake
Make all dough mixtures in a timely manner using correct procedures
Understand rotation and shelf life of raw dough
Clean and disinfect work area; set-up and break-down work station; and follow and ensure compliance with sanitation and cleaning procedures
Proof bagels
Recognize the importance of time and temperature
Responsible for opening store on time
Able to close the entire bakery
Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
Knead and shape dough
Operate machinery to mix, knead, and shape dough
Monitor the quality of the dough throughout the process
Ensure that all equipment is clean and sanitized
Maintain a safe and organized work environment
