VUMC Child Care - Dakota is seeking an Early Learning Teacher to lead a classroom and promote the academic, social-emotional growth and development of children. This role involves developing partnerships with parents/caregivers to encourage their participation in the program. The Associate Early Learning Teacher supports all classrooms, assists with age-appropriate curriculum and activities, and provides a nurturing and stimulating environment. They maintain open communication with parents/caregivers, support nutrition routines, and provide attentive supervision of children.

Requirements

Experience working with children ages 6 weeks – 5 Years Old in a professional early childhood setting.

Curriculum Development (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate curriculum development of moderate difficulty.
Customer Service (Intermediate): Keeps management informed on all aspects of one or more projects.
Curriculum Development (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate curriculum development in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
Experience Level: 2 years
Education: High School Diploma or GED

The Associate Early Learning Teacher assists in age-appropriate curriculum and activities to nurture and stimulate all domains of children’s development in their care and provides a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children’s learning and growth.
They also maintain ongoing, open communication with parents/ caregivers a plan and implement support for nutrition routines.
The Associate Early Learning Teacher will provide attentive supervision of children.

Responsibilities

Leads age appropriate curriculum and activities to nurture and stimulate all domains of children’s development in their care.
Provides a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children’s learning and growth.
Performs on-going developmental evaluations of children as required by DHS and develop lesson plans and follow curriculum implementation that addresses the individual needs of each child.
Maintains ongoing, open communication with parents/ caregivers.
Plans and implements support for nutrition routines.
Provides attentive supervision of children.
