About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking an Early Learning Teacher for their Dakota location in Nashville, Tennessee. This role is responsible for leading a classroom and fostering the academic, social-emotional growth, and development of children. The teacher will also develop partnerships with parents and caregivers to encourage their participation in the program. The Associate Early Learning Teacher supports all classrooms in promoting children's growth and development, and in building partnerships with parents/caregivers. This role involves assisting with age-appropriate curriculum and activities, providing a nurturing and stimulating environment, and maintaining open communication with parents. The Associate Early Learning Teacher will also provide attentive supervision of children and support nutrition routines.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children ages 6 weeks – 5 Years Old in a professional early childhood setting.

Responsibilities

  • Leads age appropriate curriculum and activities to nurture and stimulate all domains of children’s development in their care.
  • Provides a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children’s learning and growth.
  • Performs on-going developmental evaluations of children as required by DHS and develop lesson plans and follow curriculum implementation that addresses the individual needs of each child.
  • Maintains ongoing, open communication with parents/ caregivers.
  • Plans and implements support for nutrition routines.
  • Provides attentive supervision of children.
