About The Position

This position is for an Early Learning Special Education Paraprofessional at Maple Grove Elementary School. The role involves supervising students, working with them individually or in groups under the direction of professional staff, monitoring their learning and behaviors, and being available for any student needs including health, toileting, behavior, and self-help skills. The position also requires attending district workshops and trainings to continue learning about Early Childhood Education, and performing other assigned duties. This is a classification of Teacher Associate, working seven hours and thirty minutes (7.5) per day, 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday), with a starting pay of $17.26/hr. The start date is to be determined.

Requirements

• Must have at least 12 credit hours in early childhood education, a current CDA credential, two years post secondary education or Paraeducator certificate.
• Required to obtain pediatric first aid and CPR.
• Willingness to assume responsibility.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Flexibility in working with classroom teachers.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Enjoy working with preschool age children.
• Ability to effectively supervise students while maintaining a positive relationship with them.
