About The Position

The YMCA of the North Shore’s Cape Ann Early Education Center is growing its Early Learning Team. This role involves creating a warm, caring, and nurturing environment for infants, toddlers, and their families. The position includes developing and leading classroom activities, engaging children in a play-based learning curriculum, and supporting each child's cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Educators will have access to creative learning spaces and resources for curriculum planning, developmental assessments, and family communication.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Meet Lead Teacher qualifications as determined by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
A solid understanding of children’s growth and development—and the creativity to turn this knowledge into engaging, age-appropriate activities!
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Comfortable bending, twisting, reaching, and transitioning between sitting (including sitting on the floor!) and standing.
Willing to spend time outdoors in all seasons.
Able to react quickly and appropriately to the unpredictable actions of young children.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead classroom activities.
Engage children in a play-based learning curriculum.
Support each child as they grow cognitively, socially, and emotionally.
Maintain current Infant/Child CPR & First Aid certification.
Complete EEC fingerprinting prior to your first day.
Keep all required documents and certifications current in your educator file.
Complete all trainings, certifications, and program orientation following EEC and YMCA of the North Shore guidelines.
