About The Position

The Early Kindergarten Transition (EKT) program is a summer school initiative designed to prepare children for kindergarten. The program has two core components: Class Time for Children and Family Engagement Activities. During class time, children will meet teachers, make new friends, and become familiar with kindergarten skills, routines, and expectations. Parents/Caregivers will participate in group engagement and other activities to learn about kindergarten and the school, discover ways to support learning at home, and meet school staff and other parents.

Requirements

• Proper TSPC Licensure

• Kindergarten teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Teach children during class time, focusing on kindergarten skills, routines, and expectations.
• Engage with parents/caregivers in group activities to educate them about kindergarten and the school.
• Support learning at home by providing parents/caregivers with relevant information.
• Facilitate introductions between parents/caregivers, school staff, and other parents.
