Early Kindergarten Transition Parent Coordinator (Part-Time/Temporary) at Parklane Elementary School
About The Position
The Early Kindergarten Transition (EKT) program at Parklane Elementary School is designed to help young students adapt to the school environment and prepare for kindergarten. The program has two core components: Class Time for Children and Family Engagement Activities. During class time, children will meet teachers, make new friends, and become familiar with kindergarten skills, routines, and expectations. Parents/Caregivers will participate in group engagement and other activities to learn about kindergarten and the school, discover ways to support learning at home, and meet school staff and other parents. The Coordinator - Parent Program position is responsible for guiding students in making appropriate social, academic, and career choices and supporting their adaptation to the school environment.
Requirements
- Ability to work part-time.
- Availability for the EKT Program dates: August 3, 2026 – August 14, 2026.
- Availability for Teacher Preparation Week and Teacher Training (Dates TBD).
Responsibilities
- Help students adapt to the school environment.
- Guide students in making appropriate social, academic, and career choices.
- Facilitate family engagement activities.
- Support parents/caregivers in learning about kindergarten and the school.
- Assist parents/caregivers in understanding ways to support learning at home.
- Facilitate introductions between parents/caregivers, school staff, and other parents.
