About The Position

An Early Interventionist at SRVS Kids and Families is responsible for providing developmental therapy sessions for children birth to 5 years of age. These sessions are provided in the child’s natural environment—typically in the child’s home or daycare.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in one of the following: Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Elementary Education, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech/Language Pathology, Nursing, Psychology, Sociology.
  • A minimum of one-year of experience working with 0-5 year olds.
  • Effective Communication: Ability to clearly and respectfully communicate with families, staff, and external agencies. Demonstrates active listening and ensures transparency in all interactions.
  • Ethical Practice: Upholds confidentiality, integrity, and ethical standards in all interactions and decisions, ensuring the rights and dignity of residents are prioritized.
  • Collaboration: Works collaboratively with other professionals, families, and community partners to ensure quality care and services are provided to children.
  • Cultural Humility: Demonstrates respect for and understanding of the diverse backgrounds, needs, and perspectives of children and families, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
  • Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Approaches challenges with a solution-focused mindset, resolving issues in a fair and timely manner, while maintaining professionalism and promoting a positive atmosphere.
  • Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Ensures compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards, maintaining a safe, respectful, and efficient residential environment.
  • Maintain and abides by OSHA requirements and guidelines.
  • Observes all Fire and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Observes all Fiscal/Office/ HR Personnel Policies and Procedures.
  • Observes all HIPAA Policies and Procedures and maintains confidentiality.
  • Attends all required and scheduled trainings and meetings.
  • Always maintain a professional demeanor and exercise good judgement in all areas of employment duties.
  • Current driver’s license, driver registration and a functional vehicle.
  • Has knowledge of each program.
  • Knowledge of Office software programs.
  • Individual must be able to meet physical requirements of the job: Sitting at a meeting table or desk, Reaching, Lifting, Bending, Standing, Stooping, Twisting, Climbing steps, Driving a vehicle.
  • Bloodborne Pathogens, Right To Know, HIPAA, Security Acts, Fire & Safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Provide families with training and support.
  • Enhance child engagement in daily activities.
  • Identify and incorporate developmental strategies in daily routines.
  • Provide functional independence and social interaction.
  • Collaborate with families to discuss issues important to them and provide all information and resources they will need to reach goals and milestones.
  • Assess issues important to the family and provide all information and resources they will need to reach goals and milestones.
  • Address IFSP (Individual Family Support Plan) outcomes by building upon the family's strengths and guide them to maximizing learning opportunities for their child within the context of their daily routines.
  • Provide individual developmental therapy sessions.
  • Participate and collaborate in IFSP meetings.
  • Complete all documentation as required by SRVS, Funder, licensing/accreditation entities.
