About The Position

Early Intervention Service Coordinators (EISCs) are central to the NC Infant-Toddler Program, providing essential service coordination for children and support to their families and caregivers. This role recognizes the critical developmental period from birth to three, aiming to empower families as their child's primary educators. EISCs often benefit from telework and a hybrid workplace. Key duties include developing Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) with families and team members, assessing family needs for support services in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, conducting home visits, coordinating services like speech and physical therapy, arranging and monitoring other early intervention services, and planning for transitions to other services at age three. The North Carolina Early Intervention Section, part of the Division of Child and Family Well-Being, leads the NC Infant-Toddler Program, which offers supports and services to families with children from birth to three experiencing developmental delays and/or disabilities. Children's Developmental Services Agencies (CDSAs) are the local entities that implement the NC ITP across the state, partnering with local service providers to ensure children's success. This specific Early Intervention Service Coordinator position is based at the Durham Children's Developmental Services Agency.
