About The Position

The EHS Education Coach partners with early care and education teachers to strengthen instructional practices and align with Early Head Start program standards. This role supports EHS programming in Milwaukee and promotes ongoing professional development by building teacher capacity through consistent, individualized coaching over time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience working with children ages birth to three
  • Experience teaching adult learners
  • Must have or be willing to acquire the Registry’s Technical Assistance and Trainer Professional endorsement
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google products
  • Expertise in early childhood development, Conscious Discipline, and Creative Curriculum
  • Able to communicate effectively, work independently, take initiative, problem solve, identify needs and contribute to creative solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and understand culturally diverse populations
  • Must clear a full background check, including fingerprinting
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license are required

Responsibilities

  • Provide regular, individualized coaching to teachers
  • Model developmentally appropriate and EHS-aligned teaching practices
  • Support effective implementation of curriculum, daily routines, and teacher-child interactions
  • Build teacher capacity in alignment with Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework (Birth–Five)
  • Use data to individualize learning experiences and improve child outcomes
  • Partner with families and support inclusive practices, including children with disabilities and dual language learners
  • Support teachers in addressing challenging behaviors and strengthening nurturing adult-child interactions
  • Support teachers in implementation of Head Start Performance Standards and Wisconsin Child Care Licensing regulations.
  • Document coaching goals, progress, and program contacts in the case management system
  • Collaborate with the Education Manager and EHS team to identify trends, improve services, and align supports
  • Participate in EHS meetings, trainings, and support related WECA and EHS initiatives as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned
