About The Position

Club Z! Tutoring is seeking an Early Elementary Tutor to provide personalized, in-person, one-on-one tutoring to students in 1st through 4th grade and other early elementary school-age learners in the greater Bethesda, Maryland area. Tutors help students build foundational skills in math, reading, writing, and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), using individualized learning plans tailored to each student's age and learning style.

The role involves creating grade-appropriate, activity-based lessons, communicating student progress and goals to parents, and fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment. Tutors are matched with students and families selected by Club Z! Tutoring.

Requirements

• Passion for teaching and engaging with younger students.
• Strong knowledge of early elementary subjects, particularly foundational ELA, reading fluency, phonics, and numeracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass a background check.

• Previous tutoring or teaching experience with younger students.
• Experience tutoring or teaching elementary school-age children.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person, one-on-one tutoring sessions with matched 1st through 4th graders and other early elementary school-age students in the greater Bethesda area.
• Develop and implement personalized, activity-based and other grade-level-appropriate learning lesson plans.
• Communicate student progress and goals with parents.
