About The Position

Central Christian School partners with families to provide a Christ-centered education that supports the academic, spiritual, and personal growth of students from early childhood through high school. Our Early Education program provides a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where young learners begin developing foundational academic, social, and spiritual skills. We are seeking a caring and dependable Early Education Teacher to join our Early Learning team for the 2026–2027 school year, serving students ages 3–5 years old. The Early Education Teacher is responsible for providing Christ-centered instruction and care that supports the developmental needs of young children. Teachers create a structured and nurturing classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development, early academic readiness, and Christian character formation. This position works closely with the Early Education team to ensure a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-aged students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (required for teaching positions at Central Christian School)
  • Ability to support the mission and values of Central Christian School
  • Experience working with young children ages 3–5
  • Must meet Oregon Early Learning Division (OELD) Teacher qualification requirements for licensed early learning programs
  • Profess Jesus Christ as personal Savior
  • Support and uphold CCS’s Statement of Faith, mission, and core values
  • Integrate biblical worldview and Christian character into classroom interactions
  • Model integrity, professionalism, and servant leadership

Nice To Haves

  • Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Previous experience in a preschool or licensed childcare setting
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and kindergarten readiness skills

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities
  • Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Support social-emotional growth and positive behavior development
  • Encourage curiosity, creativity, and foundational learning skills
  • Maintain active supervision of students at all times
  • Support daily classroom routines including transitions, activities, and play
  • Ensure classroom safety and organization
  • Maintain regular communication with families regarding student care and progress
  • Collaborate with Early Education team members and administration
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, chapel, and school events
  • Maintain compliance with Oregon Early Learning Division (OELD) licensing requirements
  • Follow classroom ratios and supervision expectations
  • Complete required documentation, logs, and certifications
