About The Position

Reporting to the CTE Coordinator, the Early Education & Care Teacher’s role is to help students learn career area subject matter in accordance with Ch. 74 educational frameworks and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able and responsible men and women. Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree or higher is required.
Three years of recent (within the last seven years) full-time employment experience directly related to the Early Education & Care field is required.
Valid Massachusetts Chapter 74 Teaching License in vocational education, SEI Endorsement, and a state-issued driver’s license are required.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively prepare lesson plans in accordance with district curriculum and the state Curriculum Frameworks.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, parents, teachers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Must possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Ability to apply knowledge of clinical skills and theory to the instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents; ability to work effectively with all staff at all levels of the school district; skills in oral and written communication is required.

Nice To Haves

Prior teaching experience, preferably in a vocational high school setting, is preferred.

Responsibilities

Teaches district-approved curriculum; prepares lesson plans accordingly.
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior and work ethic when working on special projects.
Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and __in harmony with the goals__establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students.
Ensures accuracy and best practices for compliance of organizational standards.
Keeps records and prepares progress reports.
Keeps current in discipline and teaching techniques.
Participates in professional development and remains current in the field.
Any other relative teaching duties as assigned.
Supervises the classroom and students.
