About The Position

Child Care of the Berkshires is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Early Education and Care Teacher to join their team at the Magic Seasons Center in Adams, MA. The Magic Seasons Early Childhood Center serves 47 toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children in a warm, supportive learning environment. It is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) and provides high-quality early childhood education, enrichment activities, meals, transportation services, family case management, mental health consultation, and developmental assessment services. The center is committed to supporting the whole child and partnering with families to ensure every child has a strong foundation for lifelong learning. The Early Education and Care Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom while implementing a high-quality educational program aligned with the philosophy and mission of Child Care of the Berkshires. This position also collaborates with North Adams Public Schools through the Commonwealth Preschool Partnership Initiative (CPPI) to support children's successful transition to kindergarten. Teachers participate in ongoing professional development and collaborative planning as part of this partnership.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for working with young children and an understanding of child growth and development.
  • EEC Teacher qualification, at minimum, including: One college-level child development course, and at least nine months of experience in a licensed child care program.
  • Knowledge of child health, nutrition, safety, and basic first aid.
  • Familiarity with NAEYC Developmentally Appropriate Practices.
  • Strong communication skills with children, families, coworkers, supervisors, and community partners.
  • Ability to supervise children effectively using appropriate visual and auditory awareness.
  • Commitment to fostering an equitable, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment.
  • Reliability, professionalism, and consistent attendance.
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during stressful or emergency situations.
  • Willingness to receive feedback and engage in continuous professional growth.
  • Ability to follow classroom health, safety, cleaning, and sanitization procedures.
  • Successful completion of all required background record checks.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
