About The Position

Provide trauma-informed, dyadic and caregiver-mediated treatment to children ages 0–6 and their caregivers within a CCBHC framework (rapid access, crisis linkage, whole-person care). Lead assessment, DC:0–5/DSM‑informed diagnosis, individualized treatment planning, and evidence‑based interventions (e.g., CPP, PCIT, ABC, Circle of Security, Incredible Years). Partner closely with the Early Childhood Case Manager and community systems. Provide services as outlined on the SEK-CAP Early Childhood Education Services contract, including center based services at the Riverton, Columbus and Galena locations. Development of a therapeutic curriculum for Explorers and Pathfinders II program including the planning of treatment activities for groups. Provide clinical oversight to ensure quality therapeutic and rehabilitative services including presence in Explorers and Pathfinders II group to observe and assure program fidelity. Ensure staff are utilizing developmentally appropriate approach and the program’s positive behavior management system.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
  • Kansas licensure by BSRB.
  • Experience working with children and families.
  • Organization, attention to detail, and effective communication skills are a must.
  • Experience and ability to work with children with a severe emotional disturbance, and the ability to react professionally and effectively in a variety of human service situations.
  • Prior experience should be in mental health or human services field.
  • Completion of all required background checks, alcohol/drug screening process, and motor vehicle record check.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification/advanced training in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Parent Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT), Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-up (ABC), Circle of Security Parenting (COS‑P), or Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF‑CBT) early adaptations.

Responsibilities

  • Developmental/behavioral and relational assessment (e.g., (Ages and Stages) ASQ‑3/ASQ:SE‑2, Autism screenings (M‑CHAT‑R/F, SRS-2); risk & safety screening.
  • Individualized treatment plans with caregiver voice/choice; adjust Level of Care (Tier 1–3) by acuity.
  • Deliver EBPs (dyadic/triadic, play‑ and routine‑based coaching) and crisis stabilization with rapid follow‑up.
  • Coordinate with primary care/psychiatry, early education/Head Start, Part C, Health Department, Parents as Teachers, Healthy Families, child care centers, preschools, schools, SUD services; convene Child & Family Team.
  • Measurement‑based care (e.g., Preschool and Early Childhood Functional Assessment Scale (PECFAS)/Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths – Early Childhood (CANS‑EC), caregiver stress scales); timely EHR documentation.
  • Participate in reflective supervision; mentor the Early Childhood Case Manager.
  • Participate in coverage for after hours/weekends on call rotation
