About The Position

The Early Education Teacher at Bayview’s Intergenerational Childcare Center (ICC) plays a vital role in a truly unique, mission-driven program within our nonprofit continuing care retirement community. Working under the guidance of the Lead Teacher, this position partners closely with team members to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for children—while also fostering meaningful connections with older adult residents. Bayview ICC's special intergenerational approach, through shared activities like art, gardening, and storytelling, helps create one-of-a-kind learning experiences that support children’s social development, empathy, and understanding of others. This model not only enriches the lives of the children, but also builds a strong sense of community across generations. We are looking for teachers who are dedicated to early childhood education and enjoy working in a team-based setting. This role is ideal for a collaborative, relationship-focused educator who is passionate about early childhood development. Teachers support daily classroom activities, help implement curriculum, and ensure compliance with licensing standards while creating a positive and inclusive environment for children, families, and the broader community.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Meets or exceeds the minimum licensing requirements for certifications (i.e., CPR, HIV/AIDS, First Aid, Food Handlers Permit).
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Treats parent/child information in a confidential manner.
  • Possesses good communication skills.
  • Possesses good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and patient.
  • Ability to have fun and laugh often!

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate of Arts Degree, a Child Development Associate Degree, or equivalent options.
  • Willingness to work towards an Associate of Arts Degree or a Child Development Associate Degree.
  • Demonstrated willingness to continue attending educational offerings.
