About The Position

A Child’s Place is seeking energetic, kind, and compassionate individuals to join their team. They encourage applications for Toddler Care Teacher positions from those who love working with young children ages 1–3. A Child's Place is part of Unity House, a Rensselaer County-based human service agency that provides a wide range of services to meet the unmet needs of people in the community who are hurting and struggling. This includes assisting those living in poverty, adults living with mental illness or HIV/AIDS, victims of domestic violence, and children with developmental delays. Requirements

  • AA in Early Childhood Education, OR CDA credential, OR At least 9 credits in Early Childhood Education plus experience working with young children.
  • Flexibility to adapt as program needs change throughout the day.
  • Dependability and strong attendance.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nurturing care and support for children ages 1–3.
  • Work closely with the Childcare Manager to support the daily operations of the classroom and facility.
  • Assist with all aspects of childcare, helping to meet the developmental, emotional, and physical needs of each child.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
  • Create a warm, welcoming, inclusive atmosphere where all children feel a sense of belonging.
  • Assist teammates as needed to ensure smooth program operation.
  • Maintain current MAT certification and administer medications as needed.
