About The Position

Love helping preschoolers discover, create, and grow? Join UCCA Head Start and lead a classroom where 3- and 4-year-old children build confidence, curiosity, and the skills they need for school. Requirements

• Associate’s Degree (A.A.) in Early Childhood Development or related field from an accredited two-year college or technical school OR Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Early Childhood Development or related field from an accredited four-year college or university
• Experience working in preschool or early childhood settings
• Child Care Credentials I & II (EDU 119) required, or ability to obtain
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, and staff
• Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate classroom activities
• Create engaging learning environments and functional learning centers
• Monitor and assess children’s developmental progress
• Maintain accurate classroom and child assessment records
• Partner with families through conferences, communication, and home visits
• Supervise children in classroom, outdoor, and meal settings
• Collaborate with Assistant Teachers, specialists, and support staff
• Support children’s social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development
• Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and CACFP requirements
