About The Position

Sacred Heart Catholic School is seeking a caring, energetic, and dependable Part-Time Early Childhood Teacher Aide to support our Early Learning program serving children ages 3–5. The Teacher Aide works collaboratively with the classroom teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that promotes children's academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, demonstrates patience and flexibility, and is committed to fostering a positive classroom environment that reflects the mission and values of Catholic education. This is for the 2026 - 2027 school year.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and actively engage with young children throughout the day.
  • Commitment to providing a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
  • Support for the mission and values of Catholic education.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children ages 3–5 in a preschool, childcare, or educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the classroom teacher with implementing daily lesson plans and learning activities.
  • Support children's learning through individual, small-group, and whole-group instruction.
  • Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, rest time, and transitions.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
  • Prepare classroom materials, learning centers, and instructional resources.
  • Encourage positive behavior and model appropriate social skills.
  • Assist children with self-help skills, including toileting, dressing, handwashing, and meal routines as needed.
  • Foster children's social, emotional, language, cognitive, and motor development through play-based learning experiences.
  • Communicate professionally with teachers, administrators, and families.
  • Follow all school policies and procedures regarding health, safety, confidentiality, and child supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or principal.
