About The Position

Holly Ridge Center is seeking a full-time Early Childhood Special Educator to join their team in Bremerton, Washington. This non-profit neurodevelopment center focuses on providing early support services to children from birth to age 3 and their families. The Early Childhood Special Educator will provide specialized instruction, evaluation, assessment, treatment, and consultation within a medical and educational model, utilizing an interdisciplinary, family-centered, and culturally responsive approach. This role involves developing and implementing individualized family support plans as part of Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) and partnering with caregivers to support child development in natural environments.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of typical and atypical child development processes
  • Meeting facilitation skills
  • Awareness of family economic and cultural issues as they relate to early intervention
  • Knowledge of Washington State Special Education and/or Federal Early intervention regulations
  • Knowledge of IFSP process
  • Ability to pass DSHS criminal history background check
  • BA in Education, with a minor in Special Education; OR a BA in Special Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Special Education; OR a Master's degree in Early Childhood Special Education OR qualify for an additional pathway to obtaining an ESIT Developmental Specialist Certification.
  • Coursework must include child development; family systems; evaluation/assessment and curriculum development/intervention strategies.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of required personal liability insurance
  • Must have clean WA State driving record, as defined by HRC's agency insurance policy

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Early Childhood Special Education preferred
  • Infant/toddler training and/or experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction to children from birth to age three within a medical and educational model.
  • Deliver evaluation, assessment, treatment, and consultation using an interdisciplinary, family-centered, and culturally responsive approach.
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement individualized family support plans as part of Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT).
  • Partner with caregivers to support children's development in their natural environments.
  • Make home visits.
  • Facilitate meetings.
