Position Overview The Early Childhood Special Education Teacher will work with children ages 3–5 with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, speech/language needs, social-emotional challenges, and other disabilities requiring specialized support. This role may include: Preschool special day classrooms Inclusive early learning environments Push-in and pull-out support Small group intervention Family coaching and collaboration IEP development and case management Transition planning into TK/Kindergarten This opportunity is ideal for educators who thrive in play-based, developmentally appropriate, and highly collaborative settings.

Requirements

  • Active California Education Specialist Credential with Early Childhood Special Education authorization or equivalent ECSE credential
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in: Special Education Early Childhood Education Child Development Related field
  • Experience working with children ages birth–5 preferred
  • Strong knowledge of: IEP development preschool special education law developmental milestones evidence-based intervention inclusive preschool practices
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with California SELPA compliance standards preferred
  • Bilingual skills highly valued but not required

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individualized, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned to each child’s IEP goals
  • Create engaging lessons focused on: communication early academics behavior regulation sensory integration motor development school readiness
  • Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and maintain accurate documentation
  • Lead and participate in IEP meetings , assessments, and parent conferences
  • Collaborate closely with: speech-language pathologists occupational therapists school psychologists BCBA/RBT teams paraprofessionals preschool staff
  • Implement positive behavior strategies and classroom supports
  • Support inclusion opportunities and peer-based learning experiences
  • Partner with families to reinforce developmental goals at home
  • Prepare students for successful transitions into TK, Kindergarten, and less restrictive environments
